A New Kind of Stew

Evan, Amanda, and I decided to try something different for dinner last night, and it actually turned out pretty fan-effing-tastic. It sounds weird, but I highly recommend you try it. Go to your nearest butcher to find top quality poultry. The flavor of the meat and the spices makes for one really great stew!

African Stewed Parrot

2 de-feathered parrots- whole
2 large potatoes- chopped in large pieces
2 large carrots- chopped
1 large onion
2 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange
½ cup green olives
Salt and pepper
Chopped peanuts, for garnish
